REQUIRED SUMMER READING (HONORS ENGLISH)
Summer Reading Honors English (all grades)
Select one of the texts or pairings below based on the course that appears on your 26-27 schedule. Do NOT select a young-reader or abridged version of the book or play.
It is recommended that you take notes as you read or annotate your text for easier recall/reference in September. All texts will be assessed in class after the first week of school. Your teacher will be able to give you more specifics on the task.
Copies of these texts may be purchased on your own, borrowed from a public library, or borrowed through SORA (our online catalog) or physically through the DV Media Center.
AP Summer Assignments 2025
Summer 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) Coursework (UPDATED 6/10/25)
Students enrolled in some Advanced Placement courses are required to complete summer assignments due to the nature of the curricula. With the AP tests scheduled to take place in May 2025, these classes move at an accelerated pace. As such, the curriculum at DVRHS, including these summer assignments, is purposefully aligned with the rigorous College Board program.
Not all AP classes will require summer assignments; check with your teacher if you do not see the assignment below.
***Even if you are taking the course for concurrent enrollment credit instead, summer assignments are part of the coursework and must be completed.***
If you have any questions regarding these assignments, please contact the teachers directly or Ms. Tara Civitillo if you do not receive a response or have other concerns.
